Whatever Wednesday - Paradise
This week, I was inspired by a card sketch challenge on Stampin' Connection (A SU! Demonstrator message board & gallery) by Susie Nelson. This is also a one-layer card which I enjoy creating every once in a while.
I inked up my clear B block (just the edges) with Old Olive ink, then stamped it down one side of my Sahara Sand card base. I inked the leaves (from the Paradise stamp set) with VersaMark, then kissed with inked stamps from the Extreme Elements stamp set. I heat embossed the leaves with Clear Stampin' Emboss powder. A few Brights Brads in the empty corners finished off the stamped images. It's hard to see in this picture, but I scored three lines between the stamped leaves and my sentiment (from FYI).
Stamps: Paradise, FYI, Extreme Elements
Inks: Old Olive, Pear Pizazz, Tempting Turquoise
Cardstock: Sahara Sand
Other: Clear Stampin' Emboss powder, Brights Brads, Bone Folder, Paper Trimmer, B Acrylic Block

Hamilton Regionals were a blast!
I had a great time yesterday with some of my team members (thanks for a fun day Margaret, Nancy and Sherri!) at the Stampin' Up! Regionals in Hamilton. We saw some great presentations from Stampin' Up! staff and Shelli herself was there too. There were also six great Wow presentations... I had lots of 'aha' moments. There were lots of great swaps and samples for us to look at too... and a sneak peek at a stamp set from the upcoming (January 2011) Occasions Mini. You can actually get this stamp early, and for free! I can't show you the set itself, but I can show you some cards using this set. It's called Eat Chocolate, and it's perfect for cards to send to friends (my friends love chocolate, anyway).
Anyone in Canada can join my team... if you'd like to learn more about the benefits of begin a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, you can check out info here or contact me with any questions you have.
This Eat Chocoate set is fun, and totally me... I can't wait to play with it, and I hope you like it too!

Fast & Fun Friday - Aviary Stamp-a-Stack card
On Fridays, I share something quick & easy to make (under 15 minutes).
Before I get on with Fast & Fun Friday, I want to welcome Mair to my Gold Stars, Ink. team! She took advantage of the great special this month (the free Greenhouse Garden Craft Tote) which is on top of the already fabulous discount you get on the Starter Kit products (44% less than you'd pay as a customer). If you're in Canada, and you'd like to get this tote, or you'd like more information please e-mail me, or check out the Join My Team tab at the top of my blog.
This card is one that we'll be making in my All Occasion Stamp-a-Stack coming up on World Card Making Day (October 2nd). Since we make 12 cards (three of each design) , they have to be quick & easy to stamp and put together. Yvonne came over and helped me design these stamp-a-stack cards, and I love the way they turned out!
Stamps: Aviary
Inks: Cherry Cobbler, Not Quite Navy
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Not Quite Navy, Naturals White
Other: Square Lattice TIF, Basic Rhinestone, Corner Rounder Punch, Scallop Edge punch, Two-Step Bird punch
I'm off to Regionals in Hamilton with three of my downline bright and early tomorrow... I'm very excited and know I'll have a good time!

Try it Thursday - Fancy Favor Luminary
On Thursdays, I try something new, and invite you to try it too!
I saw this idea (or something like it) somewhere online at least a year ago and I've finally tried it out. I ran some textured Rich Razzleberry cardstock through my Fancy Favour Big Shot die and then cut the top inch off the top. I cut the bottom section an inch from the bottom score lines too. Then I ran a piece of Vellum Cardstock (2 3/4" x 11") through the Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions Folder twice (once at each end). I stuck Sticky Strip along the edges of the Rich Razzleberry pieces and stuck the Vellum Cardstock to the rest of the Fancy Favour box. I used my Bone Folder to score the Vellum Cardtock with the Fancy Favour pieces, and stuck it together like I normally would. I have a battery powered tealight to put inside my luminary.
This is one of the projects from my Home Decor Class this weekend... it helps pass the drying time required for a couple of the other projects.
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry (textured), Vellum Cardstock
Big Shot: Fancy Favor die, Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions folder
Other: Sticky Strip, Two-Way Glue

Whatever Wednesday - challenges
On Whatever Wednesdays, I share whatever is inspiring me, and hope you'll be inspired as well.
Today, I was inspired by two different challenges... FTL # 107 from the Clean & Simple Blog, and Colour Challenge #2 from the Utah Divas International. I added some Smooch Illuminate Top Coat to some of the embossed areas on the Chocolate Chip cardstock. I also embossed the image from Just Believe with Regal Rose Craft ink on the Regal Rose patterned paper (from the Brights DSP Stack).
Stamps: Just Believe
Inks: Regal Rose Craft, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron
Cardstock: So Saffron, Real Red, Chocolate Chip
Other: Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder, Modern Label Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Word Window Punch, Basic Pearls, Elegant Lines Textured Impressions folder, Smooch Illuminate Top Coat.

Mini Monday - French Foliage
In my Mini Monday posts, I feature a stamp set (or two) from the current Mini Catalogue.
This card uses the French Foliage stamp set from the Holiday mini, and the Scallop Squares Duo Big Shot die. The design of the card is based on a card sketch challenge on Stampin' Connection (a demonstrator message board & gallery). I rock 'n rolled the images on the background of the card, and heat embossed the main leaf image. The sentiment is from Fabulous Phrases.
Stamps: French Foliage, Fabulous Phrases
Inks: Peach Parfait, Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip Craft
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Naturals Ivory, Peach Parfait, Wild Wasabi
Other: Linen Thread, Regals Buttons, Scallop Squares Duo die, Clear Stampin' Emboss powder

Fast & Fun Friday - Snowflakes
On Fridays, I share something quick & easy to make (under 15 minutes).
I saw this idea on a couple different blogs... I think the first one I saw was Tana Conley's card. Her card isn't very complicated, but I simplified it even more for my Fast & Fun Friday card...
I stamped the snowflakes (from Serene Snowflakes) in different colours (Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride, Marina Mist) onto Whisper White textured cardstock. Then I ran it through the Northern Flurry embossing folder (hopefully you can see the texture) and tore the bottom edge. I tied a knot in the Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon and attached it to the top of the stamped cardstock with glue dots. Then I stamped the sentiment onto the Baja Breeze card base.
Stamps: Serene Snowflakes, Christmas Greetings
Inks: Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride, Marina Mist
Cardstock: Whisper White textured, Baja Breeze
Other: Northern Flurry Texutred Impressions Folder, Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon

Try it Thursday - Wheeled Frame
On Thursdays, I try something new, and invite you to try it too!
I have to admit that I don't use my Stampin' Around wheels very often lately, and when I do, I just wheel them along to make a straight border or strip. Sometimes I'll do a whole background to add visual interest. I've never tried to make a mitred frame with my wheel... until today! It wasn't too difficult after a little trial and error. Post-it Notes were my friend (especially the longer ones) for masking the corners. I also needed to use my Wheel Guide to get nice straight stamping. My last tip is to cut a piece to go inside the frame to disguise any slight imperfections. Here's the card I came up with:
We'll be making it this weekend at my Technique Class (featuring Stampin' Around Wheels) this weekend. I still have some spots available if you're in the London, ON area and would like to make this card..
Stamps: Herb Expressions, Baroque Swirls Stampin' Around Wheel
Inks: Old Artichoke, Rose Red, Perfect Plum
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red
Other: Always Artichoke Seam Binding, Sweet & Sour DSP, Blender Pen, Wheel Guide, Rhinestone Brad

Two for One Tuesday - Sept Thank You cards
On Tuesdays, I share two projects that are linked in some way... stamp set, design, colours, etc.
Today I've been working on my September Thank You cards to include in all my orders this month. I have two versions with the same design and colours, but different stamp sets.
This card uses the Always Wheel (with So Saffron) on a Crumb Cake 3x3 card. Then I stamped the flowers from Silhouette Sentiments onto a 2 1/2" Circle of Very Vanilla. The sentiment (from Fabulous Phrases) is stamped with Soft Suede on a torn piece of So Saffron cardstock.
This version has the wheeled background and the same sentiment as the first card, but I stamped the flowers from Growing Green onto the Very Vanilla circle (So Saffron, Soft Suede and Riding Hood Red). Which would you prefer to receive?

Inks: VersaMark, Blushing Bride, Ceratinly Celery, Old Olive Craft
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride, Whisper White

Sketchy Sunday - #96
On Sketchy Sundays, I have a card or layout sketch to hopefully inspire you. I also have a project I've done inspired by the sketch.
Well, it's not Sunday anymore, but Blogger wasn't co-operating with me and I couldn't upload the images earlier. Here's the card sketch for this week:
For any Stampin' Up! Demos, this is also the sketch for this weeks' card sketch challenge at Stampin' Connection. You can see the challenge thread (and play along) by clicking here. If you are inspired to create something, I'd love to see... please link me up in the comments! Here's the card I created:
I chose the colour combination with the help of my Colour Coach. I wanted to use the Newsprint DSP, so I looked up Basic Black. It suggested using Old Olive and Daffodil Delight, and I thought I'd give it a try!
Stamps: Just Believe
Inks: Old Olive, Daffodil Delight
Cardstock: Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Other: Pear Pizazz Poly Twill ribbon, Eyelet Border punch, 2 1/2" Circle punch

Step it Up Saturday - Very Vintage Vogue
On Step it Up Saturdays, I show you two cards. One is a simple and quick and the second is 'stepped up' by adding a technique, embellishments or layers
I used the same stamps (Very Vintage wheel & Vintage Vogue and Full of Life for the sentiments), colours (from the Colour Coach - Baja Breeze, Basic Grey & Cajun Craze) and design for both of these cards.
Card One is pretty basic. I wheeled across some Naturals White cardstock with the Very Vintage wheel and Baja Breeze ink. I sponged over the wheeled cardstock so blended a little more. I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon punch to add a Cajun Craze border. I stamped off my images for the sentiment panel so the sentiment would show clearly.
For Card Two, I added a technique (I created a mask with punches, then wheeled over it. Before removing the mask, I used the Baja Breeze marker to outline each circle). I also used the Colour Spritzer to add some specks of Baja Breeze all over the card front. The Dotted Scallop Ribbon strip was put through the Crimper to add some texture. I also added Basic Pearls to the flower centres on the sentiment panel.
Which card do you prefer? Is quick & easy your style, or do you like the extra touches added to the stepped up card?
Card One
Stamps: Very Vintage Wheel, Vintage Vogue, Full of Life
Inks: Baja Breeze, Cajun Craze, Basic Grey
Cardstock: Naturals White, Basic Grey, Baja Breeze
Other: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch
Card Two
Stamps: Very Vintage Wheel, Vintage Vogue, Full of Life
Inks: Baja Breeze, Cajun Craze, Basic Grey
Cardstock: Naturals White, Basic Grey
Other: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch, Crimper, Circle Punches (Itty Bitty Shapes, 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", 1 3/8"), Baja Breeze Stampin' Write Marker, Basic Pearls, Colour Spritzer

Fast & Fun Friday - Navy Botanical
On Fridays, I share something quick & easy to make (under 15 minutes).
A card sketch is a great starting point to make a quick & easy card come together even faster. This card is based on a sketch by Susie Nelson (for a Stampin' Connection challenge). I also chose the colour combo with the Colour Coach. I started with Very Vanilla because that was one of the colours in the Newsprint DSP I wanted to use. I stamped some leaves (from Pendant Park & Paradise) on some scraps of Very Vanilla and trimmed the corners. ***TIP: To get your corners the same: Trim one, then flip it and place it over the other corner. Cut along the edge of the scrap, and they'll match perfectly! Of course, I used my favourite new punch (Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border) and tucked the sentiment from Perfect Punches under the edge. I finished it off with a Paper Flower (dyed with a Stampin' Write Marker and an Aqua Painter), a little punched flower and a Basic Pearl.
Stamps: Paradise, Perfect Punches, Pendent Park
Ink: Not Quite Navy
Cardstock: Regal Rose, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla
Punches: Curly Label, Itty Bitty Shapes, Dotted Scallop Ribbon
Other: Paper Flower, Regal Rose Stampin' Write Marker, Aqua Painter, Basic Pearl, Stampin' Sponge.

Try it Thursday - Ribbon through Ribbon punch
On Thursdays, I try something new, and invite you to try it too!
This week's Technique challenge at Stampin' Addicts (anyone can join... lots of great inspiration and challenges) is to weave ribbon through Dotted Scallop Ribbon punched cardstock. It's super easy, and I love the effect (one more reason to put the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch on your wish list). All you do is cut a slit from one dot to the next (I did every other set) and then weave the 1/8" Taffeta ribbon through the slits. I used it as an accent on this layout from my Scrapbook Class this Sunday.
You can see a close up on the right. I used the Early Expresso 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. This month's scrapbook theme is Monochromatic, so when you register for the class, you can choose which colour you'd like your layout to be (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, turquoise, purple, or pink).
If you try this technique, I'd love to see it... link me up in the comments!

Two for One Tuesday - CAS FTL 103
On Tuesdays, I share two projects that are linked in some way... stamp set, design, colours, etc.
This week, I created two cards using the same colours (Not Quite Navy, Crumb Cake & Cherry Cobbler) and design (from the Clean & Simple Blog - FTL #103) but using different stamp sets. On Card 1, I used Upsy Daisy & Fine Flourish (with the Kiss & Twist technique).
On card 2, I used Aviary and Fabulous Phrases, and changed it up a bit by putting the ribbon onto a clip from the Clips Assortment and attaching it to a Decorative Label peeking out from behind the image.
Which card is your favourite? I love the way the Upsy Daisy image fills a lot of the space, and the texture added by the kiss & twist.
Card One
Stamps: Upsy Daisy, Fine Flourish

Mini Monday - Paisley Prints
In my Mini Monday posts, I feature a stamp set (or two) from the current Mini Catalogue.
Today, I'm featuring two stamp sets from the Holiday Mini that I think work perfectly together! In Paisley Prints (C-$15.95 - item #121121), there is an image for Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's Day. Seasonal Sentiments (C-$14.95 - item #121130) has a sentiment for each of those four holidays. So with those two stamp sets, you can make cards for four different holidays!
On this card, which we made this weekend at my Holiday Mini Kick-Off, we heat embossed one leaf (Early Expresso Craft ink and Clear Stampin' Emboss powder) and we used Poppin' Pastels to colour the leaves on the left side of the card. The new 2 1/2" Circle punch from the Holiday Mini works perfectly to punch out the sentiment which we mounted on a square of Old Olive cardstock.
In my September Newsletter, I gave the cutting and scoring instructions to make a Z-fold card like this one. If you'd like to sign up for my newsletter, there's a link in my sidebar.
Stamps: Seasonal Sentiments, Paisley Prints
inks: VersaMark, Early Expresso Craft, Sahara Sand, Old Olive
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Old Olive, Whisper White,
Other: 2 1/2" Circle Punch, Stampin' Pastels, Sponge Daubers, Clear Stampin' Emboss powder, Stampin' Dimensionals

Sketchy Sunday - #95
On Sketchy Sundays, I have a card or layout sketch to hopefully inspire you. I also have a project I've done inspired by the sketch.
I have a 12x12 scrapbook sketch and layout for you today! I've included sizes for the photos, but they are only a guideline. You can also add any embellishments wherever you think they look best. If you're inspired by this sketch, I'd love to see what you've created... link me up in the comments!
and here's my layout:
I created this layout in My Digital Studio using the Sweet Pea kit Download (item # 199978). One of the things I love about MDS is that I can still use some of my favourite products, even though they've retired in real products. This kit can also be used with other digital scrapbooking software (like Photoshop Elements), and it really helps a layout come together quickly. The title and journaling block is from another download, The Write Stuff II (item #120881). There is no shipping on these digital products, and you can download them immediately after the purchase is complete! If you want to see more of the digital products, you can go to my website, and click: Shop Now, and then Digital Crafting.

Step it Up Saturday - Just Believe
On Step it Up Saturdays, I show you two cards. One is a simple and quick and the second is 'stepped up' by adding a technique, embellishments or layers.
On the stepped up card, I sponged the Whisper White cardstock with inks (Pear Pizazz, Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait, and Poppy Parade) and stamped the image with Jet Black StazOn ink. I added tiny Basic Pearls to all of the flowers. I also wrapped some Pear Pizazz poly-twill ribbon around the focal image, hand-cut the sentiment frame and added a couple pearls.

Fun & Fast Friday - Butterfly Wishes
The Big Shot is the key to this fun & fast card... I embossed just the bottom part (a little more than halfway) with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder, and use my Butterfly Wings Embosslit (my favourite) to cut butterflies from the five new core colours (Cajun Craze, Marina Mist, Early Expresso, Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler). Then I stamped the sentiment (I love how it goes all the way across the card - from Heard from the Heart) and tied some Whisper White Organza Ribbon around the card front.
I love the way this card turned out... proving once again that simple can be beautiful (if I do say so myself).
Stamps: Heard from the Heart
Inks: Old Olive
Cardstock: Naturals White, Cajun Craze, Marina Mist, Early Expresso, Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler
Other: Butterfly Wings Embosslit, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder, Organza Ribbon

Try it Thursday - Decorative Label
On Thursdays, I try something new, and invite you to try it too!
Chris thinks I'm crazy to be stamping for Christmas already, but the Holiday Mini makes it so fun! I'm also getting ready for my Holiday Mini Kick-Off this weekend--this is one of the cards we'll be making! I still have a few spots, so if you're in the London, ON area and you'd like to make this card, please contact me to register. I did leave this card without a sentiment so it could be used as a non-Christmas card...
I love this new Decorative Label punch from the Holiday Mini, but I also love when I can ground a punch by matting it on a slightly larger punch. Since the Decorative Label is quite large, there isn't a punch the right size to go behind it. Luckily, I saw a fabulous video tutorial by Angela McKay and learned how to make my own! It's easy, and I hope you'll try it too! You can watch her video to learn how by clicking here.
Stamps: Merry Crittermas
Inks: Whisper White Craft, StazOn Jet Black, Sahara Sand, Basic Grey, Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Shimmery White, Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler
Other: Decorative Label Punch, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Blender Pen, Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Folder, Basic Rhinestone

Whatever Wednesday - Glimmer Brads Challenge with Marie!
For today's Whatever Wednesday I am joining a fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Marie Kirkwood, in a fun & friendly challenge.
We've challenged each other to make something using the new Glimmer Brads (in the Holiday Mini out today)!
I created this card (using lots of new goodies from the Holiday Mini):
Click HERE to go to Marie's blog and see what she created for this Glimmer Brad challenge. You're welcome to play along with us... we'd love to see more ideas using the Glimmer Brads. Add a link to the comments so we can come and visit you.
I created this card for my Shoebox Swap I did with my downline at our Team Meeting on Sunday. Can you tell I was trying to cram as much new product onto this card as I could? I used a new stamp called Christmas Collage, the new Candy Cane Christmas fabrics (they co-ordinate with Candy Cane Christmas DSP), the Glimmer Brad (this one is from the Basics pack - I used it to hold together my fabric accent), and the new Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding (so soft and shiny).
Stamps: Christmas Collage, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, Riding Hood Red, Garden Green, Baja Breeze
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze
Punches: Word Window, Modern Label
Other: Candy Cane Christmas fabric, Glimmer Brads (Basics), Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Stampin' Dimensionals, Basic Rhinestone, Circles #2 Die to cut the fabric with the Big Shot
