Last Day of Sale-a-Bration - Language of Friendship

This card uses two products that you can still get for free with a $60.00 order until midnight tonight... the Designer Frames embossing folders and the Language of Friendship stamp set. Thankfully, these are also in the regular catalogue, so you can still get them after Sale-a-Bration ends (but not for free...).

I embossed the 'window' first with one of the frames, then stamped around it with the flower stamps in Language of Friendship with Baja Breeze ink. I stamped the bird, wing and leaf with another stamp in the set, which conveniently lines up perfectly with the 2-Step Bird punch to punch them all out at once. I coloured them (a combination of markers and Blender Pen with ink) and punched out a few other leaves to make the nest for the bird to sit on. I stamped the sentiment with Early Espresso ink and embossed with clear powder to make sure it stood out against the stamped background.

I have a few more cards with Sale-a-Bration products to share, so I'll be back later with another post!

Sprinkled Flowers - 2 days left!

Sprinkled Expressions is a perfect stamp set for the Rock 'n Roll technique... You have two days left to get this stamp set for free with a $60 order!

I used Marina Mist on the flower stamps, then rolled the edges in Island Indigo before stamping. I used markers (Pool Party and Marina Mist) to ink the sentiment stamp.

Card stock: Marina Mist, Whisper White, Pool Party
Other: 1 3/8" Circle punch, Scallop Circle punch, Stampin' Write Markers (Pool Party, Marina Mist)

Everyday Elegance Blossom Card - Three days left!

Only three days left to take advantage of Sale-a-Bration and get the beautiful Everyday Elegance papers (used on this card below) or another product from the Sale-a-Bration flyer for free with a $60 order!

Diana Gibbs created a card very similar to this one and I just had to make one myself... we made it at Lisa & Ila's party earlier this month. I also used another SAB freebie (the Fresh Vintage stamp set) for the flower centre.

Inks: Calypso Coral
Card stock: Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Pool Party
Punches: Blossom Punch, 1 1/4" Circle, 1" Circle, 1" Square

Elementary Elegance & Butterfly cards

This is one of the cards we made at Lisa & Ila's party a few weeks ago... I think it is based on one that Shelli made (at Leadership maybe???) and I adapted it so it could be a make & take and not take too much time.

I love the frame from Elementary Elegance embossed like this, and really like the First Edition papers combined with the little bits of colour (Pool Party & Calypso Coral) from the butterflies. Only six days left to get this stamp set for free with a $60.00 order... Sale-a-Bration is coming to an end!

Stamps: Elementary Elegance
Inks: VersaMark, Lucky Limeade
Card stock: Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Very Vanilla
Other: First Edition dsp, Clear Stampin' Emboss powder, Beautiful Wings embosslit, Curly Label punch, Basic Rhinestone

Elementary Birthday

Another card featuring Sale-a-bration products (available for free with a $60 order until March 31st--only 8 days left!)

If you can't tell, I love the Everyday Elegance papers this year, and this card features strips of them (rounded with the 3/4" Circle Punch). My favourite free stamp set is Elementary Elegance... the sentiments fit into the Curly Label punch, and inside the swirly label image which looks amazing embossed! This was one of the cards from my February Simple Cards class.

Stamps: Elementary Elegance
Inks: VersaMark, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party
Card stock: Crumb Cake, Naturals white, Pool Party
Other: 3/4" Circle punch, White Stampin' Emboss powder, Curly Label punch, Basic Pearl

February Thank You cards - Masked Vintage

I love the way this quick & easy card turned out... it is a 3x3 Thank You card for my February orders, and this could easily be transferred to a larger card.

I punched Post-It Notes (I recommend punching two or three at a time) with my 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch. I stuck one on my Crumb Cake card base and sponged inside the scallop circle with my current favourite colour combo (Pool Party, Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo). I stamped the large image from Fresh Vintage (free during Sale-a-Bration) with Chocolate Chip ink over the sponging and then took off the Post-it Note. I stamped my sentiment (from another SAB freebie - Kindness Matters) and added a Basic Pearl.

Celebrate Sale-a-Bration!

I love the Everyday Elegance papers that you can get for free with a $60.00 order until March 31st. I used the Petite Pennants punch and Bitty Shapes flower punch to create a banner to go across the top of this card.

The Outlined Occasions stamp set is also a free Sale-a-Bration set, and looks perfect on this card, coloured to match the papers. A little bling in the flowers is the perfect finishing detail.

Stamps: Outlined Occasions
Inks: Basic Black
Stampin' Write markers: Poppy Parade, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade
Card stock: Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Blushing Bride
Punches: Petite Pennants Punch, Bitty Shapes

Big Shot: Scallop Envelope die

Masked Triple Treat Card - March Stepped Up Class

This is one of the cards we're making in my Stepped Up Cards class this weekend...

It uses two stamps that you can get for free with a $60.00 order until March 31st (Triple Treat Flower & Kindness Matters) as well as two wheels (Very Vintage and Music Notes). I masked off the sections with Post-it notes, sponged inside, then stamped (or wheeled) with the same colour. I covered the seams with ribbons and card stock cut with the Tasteful Trim die. The Triple Treat flower can be punched with both the Fancy Flower punch and the 5-Petal Flower punch, so I stamped it twice with different colours, then punched and layered the flowers. I added a Pool Party Polka Dot brad to finish it off.

Spotlighting - Up in the Air

This is one of the cards from February's Stepped Up Cards class and features the Spotlighting technique.

I saw this card by Maile Belles, and had to try it with the Up in the Air stamp set... I stamped the image three times (inked with markers)... once on the card base, one to punch with the 2 1/2" Circle, and one to punch with the three smaller circle punches. I lined up the images and attached them to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.

card stock: Naturals White
Punches: 2 1/2" Circle, 1 1/4" Circle, 1" Circle, 3/4" Circle

This tool allows you to make custom envelopes easily, as well as boxes and diagonal score lines for techniques and fun fold cards. It fits right on top of the Simply Scored tool, and has 1/8" score lines. Stampin' Up! has created a video showing how it works and how to make envelopes with it.

Frosted Window Elements of Style

This card is from my Quickie class @ UWO (from January), and features the Frosted Window technique. I also showed this technique in my January Stepped Up Card Class (and created another card).

Basically, you stamp an image on vellum (I like the cardstock vellum) and also on a light card stock (I used Naturals White). Then you colour with darker colours (Rose Red, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight) on the card stock layer, and lighter colours (Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose) on the back of the stamped vellum. You can blend colours together with the markers, or a Blender Pen. Then you line up the coloured images, and attach the vellum layer over the card stock layer with Stampin' Dimensionals. Add a frame (cut with my Labels Framelits) and a sentiment and call it done!

Stamps: Elements of Style, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Staz On Jet Black, Old Olive
Card Stock: Naturals White, Old Olive, Vellum card stock
Other: Modern Label punch, Word Window punch, Labels Framelits
Stampin' Write Markers: Rose Red, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose
