I had seen this card made with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch a few places (great video by Stamping T! to show you how) and when I saw one like this by Laura Mackie on Pinterest, I knew I had to make it for this month's Stepped Up Cards Class. The card isn't very hard once you know how to make it, and this one has a little window and features the Happy Watercolor stamp set. I used Baked Brown Sugar and Crisp Cantaloupe ink. A bit of Very Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon ties it closed. I took a few gold sequins off the trim to glue onto the card.

Happy Watercolor

This was my favourite card from my January Simple Cards Class...

It features the Happy Watercolor stamps from the Occasions Catalogue, and I also used the Travel Journal wheel (I took it off the wheel and mounted it on Cling Foam because I find it easier to use that way. I used a Clear Block and markers (Soft Sky, So Saffron and Wisteria Wonder) to create the coloured stripe behind the flower. I just scribbled the marker on, spritzed with water so the colours blended a little, and stamped it on the Whisper White card stock. I used the Heat Tool to speed up the drying and stamped the Travel Journal with Sahara Sand. The flower and sentiment are stamped with Jet Black StazOn. I've been liking the white on white layering lately, and for this card, I embossed the middle white layer with the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder.

Thanks for visiting!

January Paper Pumpkin Bonus Projects

I really liked the January Paper Pumpkin kit... the card bases were die cut with peekaboo windows, and you could use the patterned side or the crumb cake side with the colour peeking through. The stamps were cute too, and there were lots of card stock stickers and four paper doilies. The kit came with four card bases, so I created two as they were shown in the instructions:

I cut apart the two remaining card bases to make four more cards (so six total) and still had stickers and doilies left over. Here are the four extra cards I created:
For this card, I added a Naturals White card base, a 2 1/2" circle of Silver Glimmer Paper and the stamped and die cut sentiment from Starburst Sayings.

For this card, I cut around the 'leftover' sticker outlines from several of the hexagon stickers in the kit. This kit came with a free gift of the In Color Boutique Details which co-ordinate perfectly with the kit, so I used two of those as well. Other than that, I just added the Strawberry Slush card base.

For this card (I was trying to keep it more masculine and simple... but then I realized that it uses Calypso Coral which isn't really a masculine colour.... so I'm not sure I succeeded). I only added a Crumb Cake card base to the kit supplies.

This card also only uses kit supplies other than the Basic Grey Card base.

If you like what you see, this is the perfect time to try out the Paper Pumpkin Kit. If you sign up by February 10th, you'll get a free pack of 2012/14 In Colour Markers ($19.95 value). Your kits ship right to you around the middle of the month, and if you choose me as your demonstrator, I mail you the supplies and e-mail the pictures and instructions for you to make the bonus projects by the end of each month!

SAB - Heartfelt Banner Video

Stampin' Up! has created this video showing the Heartfelt Banner (free with a $60 order during Sale-a-bration - until March 31st) with some tips to put it together and also showing the completed banner.

Good As Gold - Take Three

This is my favourite of the three cards I've shared using the Good as Gold Card Kit (free with a $60.00 order during Sale-a-bration):

It's a happy accident that this card was even made! I was going to do the card as shown in the kit at my Sale-a-Bration Kick-Off Party last weekend, but I didn't have enough kits for everyone who registered (horrible problems to have, I know)! Since the card bases in the kit are patterned on both sides, I decided to cut them into two pieces that would fit onto the Whisper White Note Cards. As I noted yesterday, you don't need the whole gold envelope liner, so I cut the bottom of the liners into strips big enough to punch three gold banners. People could choose to use the gold stretchy twine from the kit or the Bermuda Bay Baker's twine (also in the kit). The Banner Blast stamp set and Banner Punch (both available for free during Sale-a-bration) were the perfect addition! I added a little sponging, and the card is complete!

Good as Gold - Take Two

I love the gold envelope liner that comes in the Good as Gold card kit, but feel like it's a bit wasted hidden inside the envelope... So I trimmed 2 3/4" off the bottom of one (so that it still looks like it lines the whole envelope) and squared up the sides so it was 4 3/4" long. Then I used it on one of the printed cards in the kit to create this lovely gold panel. The rest of the card is pretty much the same as the one shown in the kit, although I did change it from a horizontal card to a vertical card.

We made this card at my Gold Stars, Ink. Stamp night where I was showcasing many of the Sale-a-bration products. Some people embossed this gold panel with various embossing folders, and it worked very well!

I've got one more card variation I made with this kit to show you tomorrow...

Good As Gold - Sale-a-Bration!

This card is super quick and easy thanks to the Good As Gold kit you can get free during Sale-a-bration. This is the card exactly how it shows to make it in the instructions (included in the kit of course). The kit includes the envelope and gold foil liner, the pre-printed sentiment banner and the gold and coloured banner as well as the card base (some of the dots are gold too) and the gold thread and Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine. I've got a couple other card variations using the kit that I'll share over the next few days, so come back to check them out!

Around the World Stampin' Challenge #10 - Colours!

I was recently invited to join the very talented team of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators on the Around the World Stampin' Challenge blog, and this is the first card I've created for their challenges! There is a challenge at the beginning of each month and another in the middle of the month. This month, we are doing a colour challenge: Pink Pirouette, Raspberry Ripple, Soft Sky and Very Vanilla

Here is the card I created for this challenge:

I created a mask with torn Post-it notes to sponge and stamp between (one of my favourite easy techniques). I love the new Peaceful Petals stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue, and of course with Sale-a-bration starting last week, I had to use the sentiment stamp from See Ya Later. I stamped it twice, then cut "Birthday" by hand to create a banner to pop up over the sentiment stamped on the card.

I hope you'll play along with this challenge... here are the details:

1. Create a new card, scrapbooking page or other paper project with not retired Stampin'Up! products.
2. Upload your creation with the keyword AW10 on your blog, forum or Pinterest gallery.
3. Add your creation on the challenge blog with the direct link to your creation.
4. The challenge will close on February 13th.
