Around the World Occasions Catalogue Blog Hop!

Welcome to our Occasions Catalogue Blog Hop! You may have gotten here from Miriam van Eyden's blog... Thanks for continuing your journey on the hop! I love Miriam's style and her projects were fantastic as always. Instead of back and next buttons, we have included links to all the blogs at the bottom of our posts to make it easy for you to navigate and check out all of our projects.

I knew I was in trouble as soon as I turned the first few pages of the Occasions Catalogue... There are so many products I knew I would have to have! This was one of the first items on my Must Have list: Balloon Celebration bundle and I wanted to showcase it in my post today.

On both of my cards, I also used items you can get for free during Saleabration! The sentiment on this card is from The Sky's the Limit (available until February 15th), and I thought it worked perfectly with the balloons in this set. Another favourite product from the Occasions Catalogue is the Wink of Stella glitter brush. I added some of the clear Wink of Stella to some of the clouds to add some subtle glimmer.

On this card, I wanted to use some brighter colors and the Perfectly Artistic paper from the Saleabration flyer (available until February 15th). I embossed the clouds with Iridescent Ice embossing powder for a little sparkle. The Sentiment is from Sunburst Sayings (also in the Occasions Catalogue) and I was happy it fit so perfectly in the large balloon.

Thanks so much for joining us on our Occasions Catalogue Blog Hop! I hope you'll continue on to the other blogs on our hop. They all have inspiring projects to share.

Around the World Challenge #14 - Colours!

Hi! It's the first of the month which means it's time for another Around the World Stampin' Up! Challenge! Challenge #14 is a colour challenge (So Saffron, Blushing Bride, Pistachio Pudding and Whisper White):

Here is the card I created for this challenge:

I used the Hexagon Hive thinlit to cut a mask from a large post-it note (you could use copy paper and add temporary adhesive if you can't find a large post-it note). After placing the mask on my Whisper White card stock, I sponged the three colours through the mask, blending them where they met. I also stamped the dots from Happy Watercolor in the same inks, with the mask still on the card stock. I stamped the tulips from Blessed Easter with StazOn Jet Black (using a mask to create the layered look) and added a little more Blushing Bride Stampin' Write marker to fill them in. I also added Pistachio Pudding Stampin' Write marker to the leaves. The sentiment was stamped onto a banner cut from So Saffron card stock and I threaded some ribbon through holes I punched to create a faux bow. A few pearls finish it off!

I hope you like my card, and I hope you might check out the challenge and play along. You can find all the details on the Around the World Challenge Blog!

I had seen this card made with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch a few places (great video by Stamping T! to show you how) and when I saw one like this by Laura Mackie on Pinterest, I knew I had to make it for this month's Stepped Up Cards Class. The card isn't very hard once you know how to make it, and this one has a little window and features the Happy Watercolor stamp set. I used Baked Brown Sugar and Crisp Cantaloupe ink. A bit of Very Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon ties it closed. I took a few gold sequins off the trim to glue onto the card.
