New Catalogue Party!

I'm celebrating the new 2009-2010 catalogue with a party! We'll use the new In Colours and new stamps to make two projects (plus I'll have other samples on display). Here's a sneak peek of what we'll be making:

I have lots of prizes picked out, and we'll have fun stamping and browsing the new catalogue.
I have lots of dates available, but I am limiting spaces to make this a fun and fairly quick stamping party. If you'd like to come, e-mail (see sidebar) me for more details!
Sunday, July 5th @ 2:00pm & 7:00pm
Monday, July 6th @ 2:00pm & 7:00pm
Wednesday, July 8th @ 7:00pm
Where: My House

Sketch #63 + In Colour sneak peek

Here's the sketch for this week (8.5x11, single photo, single page):

I made a card based on the sketch!

I used some of the new 2009/2010 In Colours (Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry) and some new stamps too (Circle Circus and Teeny Tiny Wishes) plus the fabulous new Modern Label punch!
I also tried inking the cardstock with sponges and then stamping with water (from Jennifer McGuire's Thinking Inking videos). I think I should have done a little more inking before stamping. The flower is from my fave set: Fifth Avenue Florals.
I hope you have time to be creative this weekend!

Last Chance - Candy Lane DSP

I love working with Stampin' Up! Designer Series papers... the colour combinations give me a great starting point, and I love that they're double sided. The Candy Lane DSP makes this a quick & easy card. What makes it even better? It's 25% off while supplies last or until June 30th.
I also love the "value" section on the last page of the catalogue... it's so easy to add a stamp or two for less than $12.00 each. Elegant Thank You works with several of the Stampin' Up! punches and I'm so happy it's still in the 2009-2010 catalogue!

Last Chance - Cute & Curly

Another card using the Cute & Curly stamp set (in the Curly Label Punch bundle--available until June 30th). I used VersaMark, Heat & Stick powder and Supernova glitter to stamp the sentiment before punching with the Curly Label punch. I used Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Pink Pirouette (Last Chance In Colours) with VersaMark ink and clear embossing powder on my Kraft card base to stamp the flowers from Garden Greetings stamp set.

Occasions Mini - Forest Friends & Matchbox Messages

One week left to buy from the Occasions Mini Catalogue, and I used two sets on this card. Forest Friends has the cute deer and tree images (plus a bunny and an owl) and the label stamp is from the Matchbook Messages stamp set. The label cut out is from the Matchbook Big Shot die. I also used my brayer to make the sky... Last chance items are Pacific Point Cardstock, Kiwi Kiss cardstock and Urban Oasis DSP.

Sketch #62

I've created an 8.5x11 sketch for you this week...

and created a card with it!

This one uses Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss cardstocks (Last Chance - not available), Urban Oasis DSP (Last Chance) and a hostess set that will be gone after June 30th as well (A Little Somethin'). I'm really going to miss these In Colours...
other supplies (all SU!): White Stampin' Emboss powder, Punches (1 3/4" circle, Scallop Circle, Curly Label), Stampin' Dimensionals

Last Chance - Note of Thanks

I really liked having the 'under $12' page at the back of this catalogue... there were some fun, affordable stamps and note card sets. I think the note card sets were a fantastic value, and really liked playing with them. The ones in the Spring/Summer 2009 catalogue are only available until June 30th, but don't worry... there's still time to get them!
I used the Note of Thanks (Last Chance! #116209) kit for this one... I love that it includes the Chocolate Chip Stampin' Spot (my favourite colour), two stamps and little note cards. For this card, I added the Whisper White Note cards, a scrap of Pink Pirouette cardstock (Last Chance), Pink Pirouette inkpad (Last Chance) and the Central Park stamp set. This is definitely a Clean and Simple card, but I like it a lot!

Last Chance - Cute & Curly

Another cute (and easy) card with the Cute & Curly Stamp set (available in the Curly Label Punch bundle while supplies last until June 30th). This card also uses the beautiful textured Parisian Breeze Designer papers which are also on the Last Chance Accessory list. I simply stamped the image onto the designer paper with Chocolate Chip ink, punched it out with the Curly Label punch, and added it to my card base (I used the Bella Toile background stamp which works so well with the Parisian Breeze paper). Get them while they last!

June Technique Class - Brayer!

This month I'm featuring the Brayer (and some of the Last Chance products) at my Technique Class... this is free for my Stampin' Club members or $5.00 for anyone to join in (free with a $25.00 purchase). These are the cards we'll be making, and we also make an instruction card with samples on the back... if you'd like to join me, here are the details!

Friday June 19th or Sunday June 21st @ 7:00pm
My house - London, ON (e-mail is in the sidebar to get my address)
I supply everything... just be ready to have fun (and maybe get a little messy)!
Please RSVP at least 24 hours before the class so I'm ready for you!

for this card, we use the brayer to blend two colours onto Glossy Cardstock, then use the brayer to ink the Fresh Cuts stamp before stamping the image onto the cardstock.
supplies (all SU!): Cardstock (Glossy White, Pacific Point, Baja Breeze); Inks (Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Grey); Stamps (Fresh Cuts, Hugs & Wishes - Last Chance!); Bella Rose DSP (last chance!)

This card uses the technique shown by Patty in this video... I used the Manhatten Floral embossing folder with Shimmery White Cardstock, then used three Last Chance inkpads (Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette & Tangerine Tango) with the brayer to add colour to the debossed side of the cardstock. I also used Last Chance Riding Hood Red Taffeta ribbon, and the Oval All stamp set with the Large Oval and Scallop Oval punches... I love the way this one turned out!

Last Chance - Cute & Curly

The Cute & Curly stamp set is part of the Curly Label Punch set (item # 112966 - $39.95), which is only available while supplies last up to June 30th. I'm so happy that the Curly Label Punch from the set is available in the next catalogue by itself! It's one of my favourites.

On this card, I stamped the label image with Jet Black StazOn ink on Whisper White cardstock, then used the Bold Brights Watercolour Wonder Crayons and my blender pens to colour in the centre label portion. I stamped the sentiment (from Pocket Silhouettes) with Jet Black StazOn ink with the help of my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig and then punched the label with the Curly Label Punch. The paper I used is from the Petal Party Simply Scrappin' Kit, and I stamped a flower from Pocket Silhouettes on it as well. This is a 3x3 card made from the textured Pink Pirouette cardstock which will also be gone after June 30th.

Last Chance - Always in My Thoughts

I thought I'd showcase some of the stamps that will be gone forever after June 30th. If you see something you have to have, make sure you get it before the end of June. Always in My Thoughts is a nice Get Well/Sympathy set, and I really like watercolouring the image.

To see the complete Last Chance Stamp List, you can click here. Some of the Decor Elements will also be gone after June 30th, and the ones on this list are 25% off! The current In Colours are also gone after June 30th, and I'll miss them! Some of the In Colour products and other accessories are already sold out, but some are 25-50% off. Please let me know if you'd like to get anything before it's gone! You can also order online anytime... see all the Last Chance products here.
supplies (all SU!): Whisper White Note Card, cardstock (Chocolate Chip, Summer Sun & Kiwi Kiss), Watercolour paper, Earth Elements Stampin' Write Markers, Aqua Painter

Occasions Mini - Very Versatile & Scallop Oval Punch

This design is a lift from someone... I didn't write it down though. If you recognize this design as yours, please let me know and I'll be happy to credit you.
This card uses the Very Versatile stamp set from the Occasions Mini, and I love it because it has inside verses and outside sentiments, plus an image! I don't think there are many sets like this, and I'm hoping there will be more in the future. I also love the Scallop Oval punch and the way it layers with the Large Oval punch... so easy to add that extra detail.

Occasions Mini - Great Friend

This is a simple one-layer card using my second favourite set from the Occasions Mini. I reverse masked the oval and sponged inside with the Pink Pirouette Ink, then stamped the leaf image several times with Kiwi Kiss before taking the mask off. I added the sentiment and used the Rock 'n Roll technique for the butterfly with Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red--sorry again, Colleen... I like them together ;).
I'm going to miss these In Colours when they're gone at the end of June... make sure you stock up now before they're gone!

Occasions Mini - Matchbox

Day Two for my Occasions Mini features -- Matchbox Messages and the Matchbox Die for the Big Shot!

The Matchbox die for the Big Shot makes these cute little boxes so easy to make! Run the paper through the Big Shot, do a little folding, add a little well-placed adhesive and fold it together! I used textured Chocolate Chip card stock for the bottom, and the beautiful textured Parisian Breeze Specialty DSP for the top. The Matchbook Messages co-ordinates perfectly with the Matchbox die to add interest to plain tops, or to add tags to attach to the boxes. I used the Polished Stone technique with re-inkers that match the DSP to create the tag, and stamped over top with StazOn Jet Black ink. Add a little Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon and some Linen Thread to attach the tag, and this is done!

Occasions Mini - Printed Window Sheets

Since June is the last month to order from the Occasions Mini Catalogue, I thought I'd feature some projects using the stamps and accessories from it this week. I'm hoping that some of these make it into the new catalogue, but they might be gone forever after June 30th, so if you like them and want them, make sure you order them this month!

This card features the Clearly Thanks Printed Window Sheets (item #115122). You get two 8.5x11 sheets of acetate printed with four patterns. Each pattern is 4.25"x5.5", sized to fit on a standard card front.
This card is super simple... I layered the window sheet portion onto a Kraft card base, then punched flowers from coloured cardstock (Rose Red, Tempting Turquoise, Summer Sun and Certainly Celery) with the Trio Flower Punch. I used the brads through the flowers to attach the Window Sheet to the card base.
