March Kit @ MSS!

This kit is called "Eight Days a Week" and has so much to love in it!

I created the layout in the post below, as well as these two layouts... I still have lots of stuff left, and have at least another layout and a card or two in the planning stages, so you might see those in upcoming posts! The owl stamp Marcy designed is super cute, and I had fun paper piecing it for my "Finding Balance" layout and colouring it for my "Razzle Dazzle" layout (named for the cupcake store the cupcakes came from... highly recommended!). Those sparkly alpha stickers from KI Memories might be my new favourite alpha! I didn't even run out of Z's! Anyway, on to the layouts:

Decor Elements Art

I made this to show off the Decor Elements at my open house (and future workshops) and I love the way it turned out! I want to do this with the Manhatten Flowers DE next...

This was so easy to do... I slopped on blobs of different paints (some were metallic, some glossy, some matte) and then blended them across the canvas (11x14) with a foam brush. I let it dry, then added a few more streaks of paint where I wanted to add more of a certain colour. When it was dry, I put a couple SU! catalogues behind the canvas (the perfect height to even out the frame) and applied the medium Always Bird decor element to the canvas. I used a hot glue gun to add ribbon to the edges to cover the staples on the canvas.

I used a primed canvas that I bought (already stretched on the frame). It had the normal canvas texture, and my painted background added even more. It isn't lumpy, but you can feel the different layers of paint. I had a harder time getting the Decor Elements onto the transfer paper than I did applying it to the canvas. It went onto the canvas much easier than I expected it to.

I think this (Fifth Avenue Floral) might be my favourite set from the new catalogue! I showed three different ways to use glitter at my February Stampers Club, and this was one of the cards we made last night. We used Versamark to stamp the main images, and Heat & Stick powder to adhere the glitter (new Supernova glitter).

"It's my Birthday" Class

It's my birthday at the end of the month, and I'm celebrating with a birthday card class! Here are three of the cards we'll be making...

We'll make five birthday cards showcasing a few different techniques. The Central Park stamp set (image below) is included in the class fee of $30, so everyone will have their own stamp set to use!
