Embossing with Framelits

This card is from my February Big Shot class, where I featured the Framelits & Edgelits from the Occasions Mini Catalog...

I love the Apothecary Art stamp set, especially combined with the Labels Framelits that coordinate with them. I showed a trick for lining up two layers of card stock with the Edgelits and also how you can emboss the shapes with the Framelits die (Tab 1, Cutting Plate, Silicone Mat, card stock, Framelit - cutting side up, Cutting Plate). I like to use post-it notes to keep the Framelits and Edgelits in place when I run them through the Big Shot. I coloured the flowers on the label image with Stampin' Write markers, and the sentiments from Loving Thoughts are perfect with the labels from Apothecary Art.

Stamps: Apothecary Art, Loving Thoughts
Inks: StazOn Jet Black
Card stock: Wisteria Wonder, Naturals White, Concord Crush
Big Shot: Adorning Accents Edgelits, Adorning Accents Textured Impressions folder, Labels Framelits
Stampin' Write Markers: Wisteria Wonder, Concord Crush, So Saffron, Certainly Celery

Doilies & Butterflies

This card is from my January Big Shot Class and combines the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and the Paper Doily Sizzlets die from the Occasions Mini Catalogue.

I really like the doily in the same colour as the card base (Naturals White). I glued the Calypso Coral circle behind the doily so I could pop the doily up off the card base with Dimensionals. I think I'll be using this colour combination (Calypso Coral, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight) again soon!

Stamps: Friendly Phrases
Inks: Early Espresso
Card stock: Naturals White, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist
Big Shot: Paper Doily Sizzlet, Beautiful Wings Embosslit

The hurrier I go...

The behinder I get. All of my best intentions fly out the door and I struggle to keep ahead of everything on my to-do list! Unfortunately, the blog suffers...

Here are two of the projects from last weekends classes (Simple Cards & Scrapbook). I'm really happy with the way all of my class samples turned out this week, and I have more to share (as well as samples for this weekend's classes), so hopefully I'll make it back here soon. My new favourite website is Pinterest (http://www.pinterest.com/) and several of my class projects were inspired by things I found there. Let me know if you want an invite (but be warned that it is addictive), or find me so I can follow you if you're already there.

I am so in love with the First Edition DSP right now... 24 sheets (4 each of 6 designs) and they are a great 'neutral' background for other papers and elements with enough visual interest to hold their own. This layout was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest:

It had many layered flags something like this one. I love the Everyday Enchantment papers (FREE during Sale-a-Bration!) and love the way this turned out.

This card was inspired by this one I found on Pinterest... I just changed the colours and sentiment (mine didn't show up very well over top of the script background, so I stamped it again and punched it out with the Modern Label punch and added a pearl.

Supplies for layout (*=free Sale-a-Bration products):
Stamps: Fresh Vintage*
Inks: Basic Grey
Cardstock: Pool Party, Basic Grey
Punches: Postage stamp, 1" Square, 1 3/8" square
Big Shot: Tasteful Trim, Simple Alphabet, Adorning Accents Textured Impressions folder
Other: Everyday Enchantment DSP*, First Edition DSP

Supplies for card:
Stamps:  En Francais background, Creative Elements, Fabulous Phrases

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! It's nice to be able to breathe again, and my goal is to post more regularly again... I was creating a lot in December, but they were all for Christmas, so there's not much point sharing now.

The Occasions Mini Catalogue went live yesterday, and I'm so excited to share some of the new products with you!

One of my favourite products in the Occasions Mini are the Framelits and Edgelits for the Big Shot. This card uses the Labels set, which comes with six dies in graduated sizes. One of the best things about these dies is that you can stamp your image (love that Apothecary Art coordinates with the Labels Framelits) and then cut it out with the Big Shot. This is one of the cards we'll be making next week in my Simple Cards Class (spaces still available)

Stamps: Apothecary Art, Distressed Polka Dots
Inks: Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder, Pear Pizzazz
Card stock: Crumb Cake, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White
Other: Labels Framelits, Wisteria Wonder Baker's Twine, Polka Dots TIF, Blender Pen
